Stainless Steel is a good mod, but is everything supposed to be in German? Not that I mind learning what the German for 'scares horses' or 'low morale' is, but I'm just wondering whether I've got the wrong version. I haven't played it for too long yet, but as well as having lots of new units and factions it seems to have some nice new features, such as a simple logistics system: If your armies operate outside your territory for too long, their effectiveness will drop. Oh, also, on my version, the 'late' campaign doesn't seem to work, not sure if anyone else has had this problem. Stainless Steel is a good mod, but is everything supposed to be in German? Uninstall and try again I would say. My late campaign works fine too. And I would highly recommend Stainless Steel. I like having extra cities around the map as well as the other features. Dec 4, 2016 - A walkthough on getting the fantastic Stainless Steel 6.4 mod to work for the Steam / macOS version of Medieval Total War 2. I just completed my first campaign using SS 1.5 and throughly enjoyed it. The AI seemed to be more agressive both in attacking settlements and, especially, in attacking factions other than my own. The diplomacy also seemed to work better - I don't believe I had an ally turn on me throughout the campaign. As the Polish, I established alliances with the Lithuanians, Kiev Rus, and French. This allowed me to expand North against the Scandinavians and then south against the Hungarians, used the Bosphorus as my southern land boundary, and island hopped to attack the egyptians from Cyprus. I was also able to keep other factions at bay by making reqular tributes to their neighbor's bank accounts - Irish/Scots to keep the Brits busy (its also helpful to have a fleet block the land passage to Ireland when appropriate), French to keep the HRE busy, Papists and Sicily to keep the Venitians busy, etc. Admittedly, once you take out the Danes and Norwegians, i.e., own the Baltic - you have more money than you can get rid of. I had close to 1 million florins in my account when I ended the game. I was able to buy several provinces from my allies and thus advance without turning them into enemies. In short, a more effective diplomacy regime and a more aggressive AI made for a much more interesting game.
